1. Overview

Directors Can't Draw ("DCD", "we", "our") is a storyboarding workspace built for filmmakers, available on the web and as an iPad app.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

You can use DCD without creating an account. In that case your projects are stored locally on your device and no personal information is collected.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use DCD, we may collect:

• Account information, including your email address and name, if you choose to create an account.
• A user identifier linked to your account, used to authenticate you and sync your projects.
• Subscription and purchase status (we do not see or store your payment card details).
• Storyboards, sketches, projects, characters and other content you create.
• Usage information, such as AI credit usage and feature usage.
• Technical information required to operate the service.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history, and we do not use your data for advertising or tracking across other apps or websites.

3. Payments

On the web, payments are securely processed by Stripe. On iPad, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store (In-App Purchase), with subscription status managed by RevenueCat.

We only receive the information necessary to manage your subscription and account — never your full payment card details.

4. AI Features

When you use AI features, your prompts, sketches or uploaded images may be securely transmitted to third-party AI providers in order to generate results.

These providers process data only to provide the requested service. We do not use your content to train AI models.

5. Data Storage

Your account information and projects are securely stored using trusted cloud infrastructure providers.

If you use DCD without an account, your work is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• provide the DCD service
• save and sync your projects across your devices
• manage subscriptions and purchases
• improve the product
• provide customer support
• comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. Your Data & Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time, directly in the app or on the web, from Settings → Account & Data → Delete account. You can also request deletion by emailing us.

Deleting your account removes your stored personal data and projects unless we are legally required to retain certain information (for example, payment records).

8. Third-Party Services

DCD relies on trusted third-party providers, including services such as:

• Supabase (authentication and data storage)
• Stripe (web payments)
• Apple App Store / RevenueCat (iPad purchases and subscription status)
• AI model providers used for generation features

These providers have their own privacy policies.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as DCD evolves.

The latest version will always be available on our website.
